"I wrote down everything about Buster — now anyone can look after him properly, even if I'm not there."
Claire, 54, has a springer spaniel called Buster who is the light of her life — and the most particular dog you'll ever meet. He eats at 7am and 6pm on the dot, gets anxious around loud noises, and will only touch one brand of food.
When Claire had to go into hospital for a week, her sister offered to have Buster. Brilliant — except Claire suddenly realised how much of his care lived only in her head. The food, the walk times, the little calming tricks, the vet's number, the fact he sleeps badly without his blanket.
So she sat down with Everhere and wrote it all out — feeding, routines, quirks, vet details, insurance, everything. It took her half an hour, and by the end she had one neat page she could send to anyone who ever looks after Buster.
"My sister said it was the most relaxed she's ever been having him," Claire laughs. "She knew exactly what to do, and Buster settled straight in because nothing about his day changed. I felt so much better knowing he was happy."
"Half an hour of writing means Buster is always looked after the way he likes — whether it's my sister, the dog-sitter, or anyone else. It's one of the best things I've ever done for him."
